Data security
All processing of personal data in TimeEd complies with the Icelandic Data Protection Act no. 90/2018 and other applicable regulations. Security measures include:

GPS and location data
GPS is only activated if the user personally grants location access in the app, and location is recorded only at the start and end of a task or clock-in, never while time tracking is running. Administrators do not see employees' locations in real time or outside working hours. The GPS data is visible only to the user themselves and their supervisor, but other employees see neither their times nor their locations.
Data retention when employment or a subscription ends
Under the Workplace Registration Act no. 28/2023, an employee has guaranteed access to their time records for 12 months after their employment ends or the subscription is cancelled. After that, the data is deleted, unless other legislation, such as the Icelandic Data Protection Act no. 90/2018 or the Accounting Act no. 145/1994, requires longer retention. In that case, data is kept only as long as the law requires.
