The help centre hjalp.timeed.is
The site is open to everyone and requires no sign-in.
When you read the help centre we store no personal data. We count which articles are read and what is searched for, but no IP address, no identifier and nothing that can be traced back to you. Personal data only comes into existence if you send us an enquiry or write feedback on an article.
What is measured
We record which articles are read, what is searched for, whether a search returned results, whether an article was marked helpful or not, comments people write voluntarily, in which language the page was viewed and from which domain the visit arrived.
We store no IP address, no user identifier and nothing else that can be traced to an individual. The measurements are numbers about the content, not about people, and they are used solely to see which articles are missing and which need improving. They are never used for marketing purposes and never handed to advertisers.
An IP address is held in the server's memory for a few seconds to limit automated requests. It is never stored.
When an article is marked unhelpful you are offered the chance to write a short comment about what was missing. It is optional and is stored exactly as you write it. We do not ask for personal data there and do not recommend entering any. Should you nevertheless choose to write, for example, your email address, we keep the text as it arrives and delete personal data from comments if we come across it.
The measurements contain no personal data and are kept for as long as they are useful for improving the content.
What is stored in your browser
The site sets no cookie of its own. Your browser holds four values:
- One that prevents the same visit from being counted twice and disappears when you close the tab
- One that remembers you have already given an article a thumbs rating, so you are not asked again
- One that only comes into existence if you yourself choose not to be counted
- One that only comes into existence if the browser needs to reload the page after a site update and disappears when you close the tab
The site's security system (Cloudflare) sets one necessary cookie that is part of its defences against bots. It is not used to track you.
When you send us an enquiry
If you fill in the "Contact us" form we receive an email with your name, email address, your message and the IP address of the request. The IP address is included so we can detect misuse of the form. The email is delivered through a US email service (Postmark) certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which confirms that a human is involved. That verification sends the IP address of the request to Cloudflare.
We use this information solely to reply to you and keep it no longer than necessary.
Hosting
The site and its database are hosted in the United Kingdom, which holds an adequacy decision from the European Union on data protection. The typeface and all content of the site are hosted by us.
